Knoxville Interfaith Network

MLK Jr. Memorial Parade January 18

Please mark your calendar and join other KIN folks as we march in the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Parade on Monday, January 18. We will line up for the parade behind the KIN banner at 9:15 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 2137 Martin Luther Kings Jr. Ave.

This is an opportunity to walk with others who share Dr. King's vision of the brotherhood of mankind and his goals of peace, justice, and equality. We are proud that the goals of the Knoxville Interfaith Network are consistent with Dr. King's vision and goals.

VISION STATEMENT

We see Knoxville with courageous faith communities working together:

  1. To build bridges across boundaries of race, class and religion

  1. With elected officials and private sector leaders

  2. To promote respect and dignity for all.

MISSION STATEMENT

KIN's mission is to create a more just society by building and sustaining an interfaith network which researches issues impacting justice and equality and builds relationships between Knoxville Organizations and the community, while working

 toward mutually defined goals.

BACKGROUND

KIN is a multi-issue, racially diverse, interfaith organization composed of Knoxville area congregations in which people of different faiths work together to promote justice, equity, and social change.  KIN is unique in its focus on systematic change rather than service.

"But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!"                Amos 5:24
